Comment : The Under 18 were   very unlucky to go down to a narrow defeat to St Michaels in a very close   match. The boys played well throughout and creating numerous chances but   failed to find an equaliser despite late pressure.

NETBALL

Competition:Senior District League  v Habs Result   : Lost 22-10 Monday 15th   October
Squad:A.Bates, C.Liebling, J.Stringer, L.Smith,   J.Pepito, G.Brooks, K.Rogero Away
Comment:In a game that the final score did not reflect   the balance of play Bushey Meads came off as the losing side.  From the start Habs were dominant in attack   scoring with nearly every shot and unfortunately Bushey could not match the   play in their attacking end.  Although   defeated Bushey Meads demonstrated some great passing play and again worked   hard until the final whistle.

Competition:Yr 8 v Habs b

Friendly

Result   : Won 6-5 Monday 15th   October
Squad:T.Bingham-Thaker, I.Stovey, E.Bonyardi, E.Leeves,   J.Boseley, T.Barnard-White, J.Mitchell, M.Sharif Away
Comment : Bushey Meads demonstrated some fantastic netball   skills against tough opposition.  The   girls started well taking an early league and built steadily on this   throughout the game.  In some tricky   weather conditions they continued to apply pressure on to a solid Habs   defence and their efforts paid off with a fantastic 6 – 5 victory.

Competition:Yr 7 v    St.Margarets

District League

Result   : Lost 7-2 Tuesday 16th   October
Squad   :S.Ballantine,   E.Ferugarias, L.Bates, L.Parr, O.McManus, N.Rose, L.Campbell, K.Geraghty. Away
Comment : But   for a poor first quarter the year 7 netball team would have had a much closer   score line in their district league game. The girls started slowly letting   their opposition take a 5 goal lead at half time, the second half was a much   closer affair with the half scores being level at 2-2 but unfortunately this   was not enough to secure victory for Bushey Meads.

Result   : Lost 25-8

Tuesday 16th   October
Squad:N.Powell, C.Williams,   A.Dell, E.Charalombous, C.Carter, L.Dare, C.Shaiboo, N.Sharif Away
Comment :The   yr 10 netball team faced tough opposition in St.Margarets. The team were   under pressure from the onset but fought hard to remain in the game.  Bushey Meads closed the score in the third   quarter only to see their opposition dominate the final quarter and secure   the victory.

Squad   :S.Ballantine,   E.Ferugarias, L.Bates, L.Parr, O.McManus, N.Rose, K.Geraghty, M.Liberty Home
Comment : This   was a really good performance from the yr 7 team.  In their first league victory the team   dominated their opposition but could not open the scoring in the first   quarter.  The goals came freely in the   remaining quarters of the match and Bushey Meads secured a well deserved   victory against their local rivals.

District League

Result   : Win 6 – 5 Wednesday 17th   October
Squad   : E. Jarman, S. Wright, M. Baker, D. Noel, G. Hill, T. Charles, E. Richards Home
Comment :An excellent performance from the yr 9 team in a   very close game. Finishing the first quarter up 2 more difficult quarters   followed leaving them 2 goals behind but the girls never gave up. The last   quarter saw the shooters step up their game and apply significant pressure to   theBusheyAcademydefence securing a 6 – 5   victory for Bushey Meads. Well done girls!
