2015 Geography trip to Brighton

On Friday 2nd October 2015, the whole of Year 9 departed for a day of fieldwork in Brighton. The weather was absolutely stunning, meaning that later in the day ice creams could be enjoyed by all.

The students visited 7 varied sites around the town centre, where they completed a bipolar analysis of each area’s strengths and weaknesses. They then focused on the ways in which each area attracted tourists, and the extent to which the local economy benefitted.

After exploring The Lanes and the bohemian North Laine quarter, students were able to enjoy some free time on the famous Brighton Pier.

A good day was had by all, and the students’ results will be used in their next unit of work as the basis of their assessment.
