On Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th March a work shadowing activity is planned for all year 10 students. This activity is part of the curriculum planned for KS4 students, and we hope it will prove to be a valuable experience.
Many of the students have arranged work shadowing placements in a variety of workplaces – schools and nurseries, finance, retail, hospital, legal establishment, radio station, hotel, vet, tennis and golf clubs and many more. Well done to all the students and their parents who managed to secure a placement. These students will shortly be given their Work Shadowing Record book which is to be completed whilst on the placement. Additionally, students are encouraged to obtain as much evidence as possible whilst on their placement, i.e. photographic evidence.
The students who have not been able to secure a work shadowing placement will come into school as normal on the 2 days in full school uniform. A number of activities have been arranged for the students on these 2 days i.e. external visitors coming in to work with the students from Skillsforce and Understanding Animal Research, a health and safety presentation and one-to-one interviews.
We do hope all year 10 students will enjoy a full and varied 2-day programme.
