HEADLINES – WELCOME

I would like to welcome all the students back from the summer break, and I extend a warm welcome to our Year 7 students and new Sixth Form students.  It is a pleasure to have you joining Bushey Meads School.

Parents, carers and students know we aim to provide the very best for our students and this can be seen in their achievement rates.

This year we have continued our trend of success.  At GCSE our Year 11 students achieved 82% at 5 + A*-C GCSEs.  In addition, to this although there has been national debate over English results, 75% achieved A*-C and 77% in Mathematics.

Congratulations to all of those students, you the parents, and of course the staff for their hard work.  These students have every right to feel extremely proud of their results. In addition,

Sixth Form students did exceptionally well.  Our AS students achieved our highest results ever, and at A2 we had jubilant students who have achieved their grades to go to university.  Once again, well done to them and all the families.

It is fitting that during this Olympic Season so many Bushey Meads students achieved their personal gold in GCSEs and A Levels.  Next week I will continue this Olympic theme when I bring news of how Bushey Meads has contributed in so many ways to make the Olympics such a great event.
