As I was on duty on the front gate this morning this photograph that I took reminded me of something that an inspirational colleague said to me some years ago – encapsulated in italics in the title of this week’s EP’s Blog.
It also reminded me of what a real privilege it is to work with so many exceptionally inspiring staff at Bushey Meads School who, on a daily basis work, work so hard and really ‘go the extra mile’ for every single student in our care; every person doing their bit to make the school the very best place for nurturing talent, encouraging enthusiasm and developing a real growth mindset to ‘Do the Best You Can with What You Have, Everyday!’
This last phrase was a mantra that Miss Dhanecha, our dedicated Senior Pastoral Manager, had all the teachers, Year 7 students and staff and visitors from Little Reddings (who have been with us this week on their Secondary School Experience Week) chanting at the end of her inspirational assembly unpicking our Theme of the Week ‘Independence’.
It really has been a superb week and our annual Sports Day on Thursday was for me the highlight. When the whole school community comes together, supports each other, enjoys the competition and the taking part, and celebrates one another’s achievements (however small or amazing they are) it is something really special to see and feel. All students from Years 7 – 10 and all staff are pictured here for the final presentations at the end of one superb day – all orchestrated by our excellent Head of Faculty for PE and Health Mr Cartledge who we thank immensely, along with his dedicated faculty team and of course the wider staff. A big thank you also goes to all the fantastic Sixth Form helpers who contributed to the success of the day.
