Executive Principal’s Blog – 23 October 2014

It is not every week that a world renowned international sports team visits a secondary school and we were extremely privileged to welcome the professional American NFL football team the Atlanta Falcons to Bushey Meads School on Monday of this week.
Members of the UK NFL league, security personnel, camera crews from CNN and Sky Sports, Executive Directors, the Atanta Falcons Cheerleading Squad and professional sports coaches formed part of the huge entourage that were made to feel very welcome at our school. Speaking to a number of local councilors who also attend the prestigious community event, they recognised the superb work of the PE and Health Faculty at BMS and in particular the community links and partnerships that they promote and encourage. A big thank you and congratulations to Sarah Cooper – Deputy Head of Faculty for her hard work in organising the spectacular event.
More importantly the students from Little Reddings, Falconer, Islington PRU and Bushey Meads School thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to develop their sports skills and play with some of the best NFL American footballers in the world. A truly inspiring event!
Finally may I wish you all the very best for an enjoyable half term holiday and thank you all for your support and hard work since the start of September.
