Executive Principal’s Blog – 23 June 2017 – Time to Celebrate Best Practice!

EPB20170623Our staff development afternoon on Tuesday focussed on celebrating best practice across all curriculum areas identified during our recent Marking and Feedback Evaluation fortnight

It was a chance for staff to reflect on all the hard work and commitment we have made to ensuring that our feedback and marking (whether written, verbal, teacher led, peer or self-assessment) always supports all students to improve their work. This enables them to attain the very best grades possible throughout their learning journey at BMS.

Over 130 ‘nominations’ to highlight the best practice had been made by staff and students in a number of different ‘BAFTA inspired’ categories. I would like to congratulate every member of staff who was nominated and indeed all staff for their commitment and desire to share best practice with all colleagues so that we can take time to celebrate what we have all achieved as a first class school and one that is ensuring that every student has every opportunity to Aspire to Achieve.

It was no surprise that the 2017 BAFTA (Bushey meads Assessment and Feedback Teaching Award) went to our outstanding Lead Practitioner in the English Faculty Danielle Bowe.

As parents and carers you can be reassured that we are doing all we can to ensure that teaching and learning and the ongoing daily support we give to students is as good as it possibly can be. With that in mind I would like to wish you all a good weekend and don’t forget as usual to click on the link to read about the rest of this week’s BMS News……..
