Executive Principal’s Blog – 17 March 2017

This week has been a week of many staff and students ‘flying the flag’ for Bushey Meads School – sharing best practice in London at a National Conference, performing in St Albans at the Hertfordshire County Dance Festival, participating in the Purcell School of Music’s Community Concert and engaging with parents at school with the superbly organised Year 9 Options Evening.

It was also excellent to hear that so many hard working Year 11 students, supported by their dedicated parents and carers, attended the hugely important final Raising Achievement Evening of the year on Tuesday of this week. All of those who came to the evening left with a pack of important resources to support their children in the final ‘home straight’ to their GCSE examinations in May and June. It was a powerful evening!

EPB20170317With all the superb work taking place at BMS, it was no surprise that Sir Alan Steer – pictured here (our new Independent Member of the Trust Board who visited the school on Monday morning) was so impressed by all the students and staf
f he met and by all the exemplary practice and passion for learning that he saw across our wonderful school.

With best wishes for a good weekend and don’t forget to click on the link to read about the rest of this week’s BMS News……..
