Executive Principal’s Blog – 15 July 2016

EPB20160715 1It was inspiring to visit the Mall Galleries in London last Saturday and see the amazing art work of our three talented BMS artists exhibited in such a prestigious space.

EPB20160715 2On Monday our BASE students put on a wonderful music evening that was really special, showcasing some amazing talents and so impressing the audience, which included a number of families visiting our school.

Our annual Sports Day on Tuesday, despite a few showers, was another great success and saw all students taking part, enjoying all the inclusive sporting events and gaining all important points for their Houses.

Our last Enrichment Day of the year was a great success with some fabulous opportunities on offer, including trips to Whipsnade Zoo and France, and some stimulating extended learning opportunities taking place in school for our students on Wednesday.

EPB20160715 3EPB20160715 4On Thursday our Year 6 Transition Day was another ‘moment in time’ to welcome another delightful year group to our school as they begin their learning journey through BMS. No doubt many of them will leave our Sixth Form with outstanding A level grades and move on to some fantastic opportunities at some of the world’s top universities and companies; they were already talking about their aspirations and how delighted they were to be at our fabulous school.

The Year 10 Drama Evening on Thursday was also another highlight of the week and the appreciate audience of students, staff, parents and carers thoroughly appreciated the hard work and commitment of all those who performed some fantastic devised and scripted plays.

At the end of a packed week, I would like to thank all the hard working and dedicated staff who continue to go the extra mile and provide such an excellent variety of learning activities for our students – even at the end of a very busy term and academic year.
