CHRISTMAS PRIZE DRAW: The annual Christmas Prize Draw 2013 has been launched this week and I hope your child/ren has already brought home an envelope containing a book of 10 tickets at £1 per ticket.
The prizes this year are as follows:
1st Prize: iPad mini, Retina display
2nd Prize: A night’s stay for 2 at Marriott Hotel, Park Lane
3rd Prize: Christmas Hamper
The Year 7 students were consulted this year regarding the 1st Prize so that they had the opportunity to have input as to what was decided upon. I do hope you will support this fund-raising initiative, the profits from which will enable us to purchase items for the students which would not otherwise be affordable or justifiable from our school budget.
BMS CHRISTMAS PLUM PUDDINGS: We are also repeating the sale of the Bushey Meads Plum Pudding which is proving an increasing success year on year and is remaining at the very competitive price of just £5. Please note that Fortnum & Mason are now selling this pudding which is recommendation in itself. We are sure they are charging more than £5! Our pudding is also personalised with a message from all the students and staff at Bushey Meads. An ideal gift for family and/or friends! An order form is enclosed in the envelope your child has hopefully brought home with their draw tickets with instructions on how to order.
HEADTEACHER’S CHRISTMAS CARD: Meanwhile the Year 7 students are busy in their Art lessons creating a Christmas Card design. This has become a tradition for our new students during my time at Bushey Meads. I will be judging all the cards produced next week, along with the guidance of our Head of Art, Mr Heywood, and the overall winner will be printed in-house as my official Christmas Card.
BMS CHRISTMAS TREE: At the same time the Year 7 students are designing a christmas decoration which has formed part of their homework. The best made decorations will be used to decorate a tree we are sponsoring at the Christmas Tree Festival at St James Church in the High St, 12 – 15 December.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT: Rehearsals and preparations are also underway for the annual Christmas Concert which involves students from all year groups. This will take place on the evening of Tuesday 17 December and I hope to see many of you there in the audience supporting your child and/or the students who are performing.
